Leadership transition at Patentgruppen

After more than 25 years as CEO and founder of Patentgruppen, Jørgen Møller has decided that the time has come to hand over the responsibility.

Effective 1 January 2027, Erik Drengsgaard will become the new CEO. Erik is currently COO and Partner and has for many years been part of Patentgruppen’s management and Board of Directors.

Jørgen Møller has defined Patentgruppen’s culture and the unique way we work with our clients. When he leaves Patentgruppen at the end of the year, it will therefore mark the end of an important chapter in the firm’s history.

“I am both proud of and pleased with the Patentgruppen I am handing over. Erik and I have worked closely together for many years, and I could not wish for a more natural transition. He knows the firm, our clients and our culture from within, and I feel very confident handing over the responsibility to him,” says Jørgen Møller.

“Under Jørgen’s leadership, Patentgruppen has established a strong foundation that we will continue to build on. We will continue to develop in step with our clients and the market, while remaining grounded in the professionalism and close client relationships that define Patentgruppen. Close collaboration with our clients and the link between IP and their businesses are central to the way we provide our consulting services,” says Erik Drengsgaard.

Together with the other partners and the rest of the organisation, Erik will lead the continued development of Patentgruppen. The goal remains to develop the firm, our advisory services and the way we meet our clients’ needs in step with the new opportunities and changing environment around us.

For clients and business partners, the change therefore represents both something familiar and something new. We will continue to build on the values and expertise for which Patentgruppen is known, while continuing to develop the firm. In short: Patentgruppen continues as Patentgruppen.

Farewell & Welcome Reception in Aarhus, Thursday, 3 December

We would like to mark the leadership transition and, at the same time, properly thank Jørgen. We therefore invite clients, business partners and friends of the firm to an informal Farewell & Welcome Reception in Aarhus on Thursday, 3 December 2026 at 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
