Patentvoucher 2026
In 2026, the Patentvoucher funding programme opens for applications on 31 March and again on 22 September.
The funding programme allows companies to apply for financial support to cover costs associated with their patent application process. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Your position in the queue is determined by how quickly you submit your application after the opening time at 9:00 AM.
What is the Patentvoucher funding program?
The Patentvoucher is a funding programme aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises. It provides financial support for expenses related to the patent application process and is designed to strengthen SMEs’ ability to protect their innovation – both in the Danish market and internationally.
You can receive funding for 75% of your costs, with a maximum grant of DKK 75,000 per year. The remaining 25% must be financed by the company itself.
Applicant requirements
To apply for the Patentvoucher, your company must:
- Have a maximum of 249 employees
- Have a Danish CVR number
- Have an annual turnover of no more than EUR 50 million, or a total annual balance of no more than EUR 43 million
- Have completed a free IP check at your local business development centre (Erhvervshus)
Who can advise?
The programme requires that your choice of advisor is market-tested and approved before you begin the collaboration.
Patentgruppen is included on the list of approved advisors and has experience helping companies safely through the entire Patentvoucher process.
The programme provides funding for expenses related to the patent application process, such as:
- Patent consultancy
- Patent search consultations
- Preliminary investigations (e.g., novelty searches)
- Assistance in drafting applications
